Travertine Pool Surround Tiles Ready for Grouting

Travertine Pool Surround

This Travertine pool surround project is ready for grouting, look at all the straight lines, stone pavers precisely laid by professional landscapers.

Nowadays a lot of people try to find possibilities of doing the job themselves to save the laying cost. You can even find a lot of instructional and DIY videos on line.

However if you want your landscaping project or swimming pool nicely done, it is essential to look for a good landscaper or tradesman who really know how to lay natural stone pavers.

Travertine for Paving

Travertine is one of several natural stones that are used for paving patios and garden paths. It is sometimes known as travertine limestone or travertine marble; these are the same stone, although travertine is classified properly as a type of limestone, not marble. The stone is characterised by pitted holes and troughs in its surface. Although these troughs occur naturally, they suggest signs of considerable wear and tear over time. It can also be polished to a smooth, shiny finish, and comes in a variety of colors from grey to coral-red. Travertine is most commonly available in tile sizes for floor installations.

Cost Saving Travertine Tiles

Travertine Tiles – Cost Saving 12mm Outdoor Pavers

This Travertine tile┬ásubstantially cheaper than 30mm pavers, which is a cost saving solution, it clearly shows the difference being its thickness. It can be used around swimming pools although copping tiles should be kept at 30mm thick. This 12mm thick stone tile shouldn’t be used in the driveway, you need 30mm pavers for that purpose.

We recommend 30mm thick travertine for exterior paving projects and high wear areas like pool coping tiles. The 12mm Travertine tiles are used when there are height restrictions on the project. This thinner Travertine tile is also suitable for pool surrounds, however a 30mm thick tile should be used as a coping tile for both strength and aesthetic reasons.

Both 12mm and 30mm tiles are tumbled and unfilled hence they are both design for outdoor landscaping projects.

Travertine Pavers Outdoor Stone Tiles

Travertine Pavers for Driveways – Outdoor Stone Tiles

Travertine Pavers for Driveways, Patios & Other Outdoor Applications

Travertine 30mm pavers: This Travertine is unfilled and tumbled, unfilled ┬ámeaning the small holes present in the stone haven’t been filled with cement, tumbled meaning put in the machine with small stones which gives the stone an antiqued look and softening of the edges giving a natural appearance.

This stone is hard and dense, some types of Travertine has a lot of soft spots in them, so it’s a good idea to see the stock prior t purchase, to be sure it’s a hard and dense stone. This particular Travertine is 30mm thick which is quite suitable for driveways as well as swimming pool surrounds.

Some swimming pool projects utilise straight cut edge pavers as pool coping tiles, this Travertine paver would be a good candidate for this purpose.
